Partnership models

Three ways to work together

Referral partnership

You introduce a client with a planning need; we handle the insurance and planning implementation and report back to you.

Joint engagement

For estate freezes, holdco planning, shareholder agreements and succession, we work as one team: you lead on tax and legal; we model and implement funding and insurance strategies.

Reciprocal referrals

Our clients regularly need accountants and lawyers, and we refer them to our partners.

Your protection

Your client relationship is protected

  • We never compete for accounting, tax or legal work.
  • A written non-solicitation agreement is available.
  • We copy you on every recommendation.
  • Nothing happens outside the agreed scope without your agreement.

When to refer

Typical situations to refer

A note on partner compensation

Where permitted by your professional rules of conduct and applicable insurance regulation, referral arrangements can be documented in a written partnership agreement, with full disclosure to the client. Many partners prefer reciprocal referrals and joint engagements instead.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are you competing with us?

No. We offer no accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation or legal services — and never will. That work stays with you. Our role is limited to planning analysis and, where appropriate, insurance implementation, always coordinated with you.

Who owns the client relationship?

You do. The client remains your client. We work under the scope we agree with you, copy you on recommendations, and do nothing outside that scope without your agreement. A written non-solicitation agreement is available.

Do you give tax or legal advice?

No. Tax and legal opinions come from you. We prepare planning analysis for your review, and you confirm the tax and legal treatment before anything is implemented.

Can we start with one client?

Yes. Most partnerships begin with a single client situation. There is no minimum commitment — refer one file, see how we work, and decide from there.

What if a client is outside Ontario?

We can coordinate with licensed professionals in the client's province so the work is done by someone properly licensed where they live.

How do you communicate with us during an engagement?

You are copied throughout: after the intro call, after the joint discovery meeting, when analysis is ready for your review, and at implementation. You always see recommendations before the client acts on them.
